What it is

A veneer is a thin shell of porcelain bonded to the front of a tooth to change its shape, length or colour. Most people choose them for chipped, worn, discoloured or slightly uneven front teeth.

We use E.max lithium disilicate or layered porcelain, made in our lab from a digital scan. You preview the result in temporary veneers before the final ones are bonded.

  • Why patients choose it
  • Natural translucency that composite cannot match
  • Stain resistant
  • Minimal enamel removal (0.3–0.7 mm)
  • Shape and shade designed with you, previewed first

Is it for me?

Is it right for me?

Usually a good fit

  • Chipped, worn or discoloured front teeth
  • Small gaps or mild crowding
  • Healthy gums and enough enamel

Not ideal, or treated first

  • Heavy grinding without a night guard
  • Large fillings or weak teeth (crowns are safer)
  • Active gum disease or decay (treated first)
Risks

What can go wrong

Every treatment has risks. Here are the honest ones, and what we do about them.

It is not reversible

Enamel that is removed does not grow back. Veneers are replaced, not removed. This is why we start with the least preparation possible and say no when bonding would do.

Chipping or debonding

Rare, usually from biting hard things or grinding. A chipped veneer is replaced; a debonded one can often be re-bonded.

Sensitivity

Some sensitivity to cold for a few weeks is common and settles.

The 'Turkey teeth' look

Over-white, over-large veneers come from over-preparation and poor design, not from the country. We design shade and shape to your face and show you a preview first.

Aftercare

Aftercare and how long it lasts

  • Avoid biting very hard foods with front teeth
  • Night guard if you grind
  • Normal brushing and flossing; hygienist visits every 6 months
How long it lasts

10–15 years on average; longer with a night guard and no hard biting.

FAQ

Questions patients ask

How long do veneers from Turkey last?

The same as anywhere with the same materials: 10–15 years for E.max or porcelain. Longevity depends on preparation, bonding technique, grinding and hygiene, not on geography.

Do you shave the teeth down?

Only a thin layer, 0.3–0.7 mm, and sometimes none. Teeth are not cut to pegs; that is crown preparation, which we only do when a tooth needs a crown.

Veneers or composite bonding?

Bonding is cheaper, done in a day and reversible, but stains and wears faster. Veneers last longer and look more natural. Small chips: bonding. Colour and shape change on many teeth: veneers.

How many do I need?

Usually 8–10 on the upper front teeth, sometimes 6. We only recommend lower veneers when they show.
