Surgical means the tooth cannot simply be lifted out. Bone is preserved wherever possible and a graft can be placed in the same visit so an implant can follow after healing.

Simple extractions loosen and lift the tooth; surgical extractions open the gum and sometimes section the tooth, which is the norm for lower wisdom teeth. Both are done by our oral surgeon under local anaesthetic, with sedation available.
